Troop 131,
I hope that you all had a great first week of school.
Congratulations to those that went to “Flight School” last weekend, I hope you had a great time!!!
I have not heard anything from David Lloyd yet but thank you to all who helped him out with the First Part of his Eagle project and I hope it went well!
COURT OF HONOR/PICNIC
In lieu of a Troop meeting we will have our annual Court of Honor and Picnic!!! This is a lot of fun and I encourage everyone to attend. For the new scouts, this is a family event, so parents, grandparents and siblings are welcome!
The picnic starts at 7:30, however, we ask that Scouts participating (and any other scouts who want to help) arrive at least ½ hour earlier to help with set-up!
As always, the Court of Honor is Scout led, so please support the Scouts in their speaking parts.
A few things to keep in mind:
- If you are coming, please see the link below from Mrs. Devlin to sign up for the potluck! There are still a few open slots!
- Please bring your camp chairs as we will hopefully be outside and there is nowhere to sit.
- Scouts, please come in full Class A Uniforms, including Merit Badge Sash and Scarf. You may wear scout shorts in lieu of scout pants however if you wear shorts please put on your scout socks. Scout hats are optional.

ADULT VOLUNTEERS
We cannot do this without you! We need 2-3 volunteers to help with:
- Wreath sales (our annual fundraiser)
MERIT BADGE COUNSELORS
Like rank advancements, the summer is a great time to work on Merit Badges. All you need is the desire, a blue card (from me or one of the other Assistant Scoutmasters and to talk to you counselor)
Mrs. Farmer, the Advancement Chair, has created a google document, see link below, that contains a list of all the merit badges and the current list of troop counselors. Eagle Required are highlighted.
PARENTS: We are blessed to have so many adults with a wide diversity of skill sets, occupations and hobbies. If you would like to be a counselor (or expand the ones you already have) then please reach out to Kathryn Farmer.
For eagle required, we are bit light on:
- Emergency Preparation
- Environmental Science
Please don’t hesitate to sign up for merit badges where there are others, it is better if the scouts have choices on who they can work with!
