Scoutmaster-Update
ZOOM meeting – 7 pm
Patrol Outings
Time to get Outdoors!  We will talk about this more in the Troop Meeting, but the SPL has initiated a requirement for all Patrols to plan a Patrol Outing in the next 2 months!  We’ll have breakout rooms to decide, but here are some parameters:
1) Must be a Daytime Activity
2)  No more than 10 people may attend (including adults) – But there is no minimum!
3)  Must be outside
4)  Must be within 1 hour of the DC Metro (preferably less)
5)  No transportation will be provided – each Scout’s family is responsible for Transportation
6)  It is required that your patrol plan this activity.  In consideration of every Scout family’s decisions in the time of Covid, it is not required that every Scout attend.
Some ideas:
Roosevelt Island – hiking
Turkey Run – GW Parkway
PWF Park – hiking or biking
Mt Vernon Trail – Biking
Great Falls – Hiking, Rock Climbing
Smallwood State Park – MD
Mason Neck State Park- Hiking/Fishing
Rock Creek Park – DC
WOD Trail – Biking
Pohick Bay
Sugarloaf – Climbing/Hiking
Anywhere – Geocaching
Service Project – 4 mile run cleanup
Service Project – Friends of Mt Vernon Trail
Patrol Touch Base
One of the casualties of these zoom meetings is the connection the patrol members have.  In fact, some don’t even know their patrol members!  So as a reminder, the attached list are the patrols and their members.
Congratulations ASM Rodger – he is a Silver Beaver!!!
Our own ASM Will Rodger has been awarded the Silver Beaver Award by NCAC!!  This is awarded to only a few this year, “to recognize registered Scouters of exceptional character who have provided distinguished service within a council”
In addition to being a Cub Scout Leader, former Scoutmaster, and current ASM, Mr Rodger has served as the chairperson for the NCAC Conservation Committee for several years, which includes awarding the BSA Distinguished Conservation Service Award (formerly Hornaday).
We are Proud of You Mr. Rodger!!
