We had a good shakedown hike yesterday, despite the rising temperatures. There are some sore legs this morning, but the scouts all successfully completed a three mile hike (up-hill both ways) with full packs, so they should be able to tackle Roaring Run without any problem!
TROOP MEETING
We are having an in-person meeting tonight, starting at 7:30.
Please bring your packed backpack to the meeting tonight for review. If you cannot attend but are planning on going camping, be sure to email one of your patrol-mates any gear that you need from the shed and coordinate with them on food.
Thankfully there is no rain in the forecast, however, it may be warm, so be sure drink lots of water. Don’t forget to wear your masks and bring you head lamps.

The Great 131 return to Backpacking is coming up! We will be going to Roaring Run from Friday 17 Sep through Sunday 19 Sep. This is a hiking/backpacking trip, and may be the first for many of our new Scouts- so you don’t want to miss it. Please fill out this form if you are interested in joining us.

For my Eagle Scout Project I will be planting a ‘sensory garden’ at Alexandria Country Day School (2400 Russell Road, Alexandria, VA 22301). I have two work days where I am seeking volunteers: Saturday September 18th from 1-4 and Saturday September 25th from 9-5 (you don’t need to be there the whole time!). Any amount of time you can give me on either date would be greatly appreciated.
