Troop 131,
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. Another short email today … sending this message from the road as I was traveling for work this week but should be back in Alexandria late tonight … provided I don’t have any issues with flights! Wish me luck.
SWIM TEST
We are not holding a troop meeting this week and will instead use the time to meet at – Chinquapin Recreation Center for a swim test. No one should feel any pressure, this is just to get a sense of where everyone is with respect to swim ability- beginner to expert. This will help us understand everyone’s level for the rafting trip as well as for summer camp. Just view this as a good opportunity for a bit of pool time with your friends!
We will meet at Chinquapin at 7:30 and then send the scouts into the pool in groups of 5 or 6. Typically we meet at the side door, so keep your eyes open when you arrive. Please come in your bathing suits and bring a towel and anything else that you may need (goggles). Parents, we will not likely need spend the full 90 minutes for test, so please either stick around our have your scouts bring their phone so that they can call you when they are done.
HOLIDAY & ELECTIONS & RAFTING TRIP
Just a reminder, we will not have a troop meeting the following week, due to Memorial Day. Also the following week will be troop elections! Anyone interested in being SPL should email me directly (and copy a parent/guardian).
More information to come soon, however, we are moving the rafting trip to a location much closer (3 hours instead of 6). Stay tuned!
