Ok folks, I’ve got good news…….good news…..and more good news!!!!!

We are all set for Rafting.  ACPS and FCPS both have early release on the last day of school (if they attend at all at day)  So that means we can get an early jump on the day on Friday 10 June.  We will be camping Friday night (car camping), Rafting on Saturday and having a campfire program Saturday night, and then returning on Sunday the 12th around Noon.

.
Good news #1  In order to celebrate the end of the School Year we want max participation, so the Troop is going to cover half of the cost of the trip!!!!
.
Good news #2 In order to thank all the adults who make these trips happen, the Troop is also going to subsidize the adults for this trip!!!!  So everyone pays the same amount- Scout and Adult!
.
Good news #3- I just saved you 3 hours….. each way!!!  That’s right, we found an adventure much closer to home.  Ohiopyle, PA is just 3+ hours from Alexandria, instead of the WV location we had originally picked.  See- now that is great news!  Which means you should all join us.
.
There are two options for rafting adventure for this trip:
.
OPTION 1: The scenic Middle Yough’s Class I and II rapids are a great introduction to whitewater rafting. By paddling the gentle waters of this nine-mile section of river, you and your Scouts will enjoy the unending beauty and wildlife of the Laurel Highlands. Rafts will seat from three to six rafters comfortably. All tours include transportation from the check-in area, all the equipment necessary for the day, and a riverside boxed lunch. This is a 5 hour trip, this will be T-131 led, Scouts and Adults (no guide), cost per person (Scout and parent) is $25.
.
OPTION 2: LOWER YOUGH RAFTING Excitement For Everyone!  Enjoy the beauty and sheer excitement of the Lower Yough River. The seven and a half miles of Class III and IV rapids will challenge and excite, but not intimidate even the novice rafter. Our highly trained and professional staff will guide you through an exciting experience that you will not soon forget. This is a 4 hour trip, the cost per person (Scout and parent) is $50 (this trip includes a paid guide).
.
BOTH options include the campsite fee already, so no additional charge for that.  Prices for both trips already include the T-131 discount.
.
If you sign up for this trip, we will need to collect the money up front, and unfortunately can’t issue any refunds after 1 June because we have to make payment in full to the rafting company.
.
As always, here is the signup form:
.
Please be sure to complete and print (or email to me) the rafting waiver form:
