Where: Bird Knob & Emerald Pond
Why: We’re a backpacking Troop!This is a short but challenging 4.5 mile hike to the pond where we’ll camp Saturday night. Once we set up camp and have lunch there will be an optional loop hike Saturday afternoon for anyone who needs another 10 mile day for the merit badge. Sunday morning is 4 miles out to the parking spot, mostly down hill.

Dehydrated backpacking meals are fine for this trip but we’d like everyone to plan a crew meal for Saturday dinner.
