We had a great Court of Honor last week, led as always 100% by the Scouts. Great job to our new SPL Luke for organizing, all who participated and attended, and congratulations on all your accomplishments!
NO MEETING TOMORROW:
The FBC is closed for activities on Veterans day. Thank you to all who have served!
Wreath Sales
LAST CALL to support your troop and sell some wreaths. Gets your forms to Ms Jahns tomorrow!
Orienteering/Cold Weather Camping – November 16/17- Prince William Forest Park
Looks like it will be a smaller group, but perfect fall weather for camping. I’ve heard rumors of some dutch oven cooking and roaring campfires….. FOR THOSE GOING: I believe all but one patrol has picked up their gear. If you still need gear let me know.
Scouting for Food –
We had 27 Scouts participate, 15 adults, and over 700lbs of food collected. Great Job!
Boards of Review – November 25th
We are moving it this month due to meeting changes for COH and holidays.
Climb O Ree – November 30/31
Do you love Rock Climbing? Do you love Backpacking? Well there is an opportunity to do both on November 30 at Annapolis Rock. A 2 mile hike and then lots of climbing. Talk to me about this if you are interested!
Philmont 2020
It’s coming together quickly now, with Matthew as the team leader. High adventure 2020 is happening!
Notes from the Senior Patrol Leader:
– PATROL LEADERS – It is your responsibility to touch base with your Patrols and be sure that they are paying attention to the Skills Training and working on their Advancement – CELL PHONE USAGE – Not in the troop meetings, except with very few exceptions when they are being used for advancement or merit badges. – BRING YOUR SCOUTBOOKS TO THE MEETINGS! Opportunities for Advancement are being wasted just because Scouts don’t remember their books. Other Items of Interest Stem Committee: Contact Mr. Steenstra at the troop meeting if you would like to be on it! There are lots of great opportunities around the area. |
