Since a large portion of the troop is off at summer camp and others are prepping for their Philmont trip, there will be no troop meetings this week or next!
But you can still work on some scouts skills and of course Do Your Good Turn Daily!

Eagle Projects – Did you know we have several scouts currently working on their Eagle projects? Here are some updates
From Patrick Hoover – Donations needed!
Hi all! I am Patrick Hoover, a life scout in the troop, and am looking for donations for my Eagle Scout project. For my project I am building three picnic tables and fixing the others in the back lot of First Baptist church (where our troop meetings are currently). The total cost to build and fix the picnic tables is $850 and I already have $425. I am planning to have this project on August 14th to ensure all returning scouts will have a place to sit during meetings and to allow for members of our community to use the back lot.
Thank you!
Patrick Hoover
From Alexander Reisig – A Thank you!
Thank you for all of your help with completing my Eagle project. Because of you – your donations of essential items and you volunteering your time – we were able to deliver over 1100 essential items for the homeless men of The McKenna Center in DC. The morning of the delivery was definitely eventful – we lost power at my house the night before, it was raining pretty hard that morning and my buddy who was coming from Falls Church with some members of his troop and their troop trailer (to transport all of the bins) and his dad had to navigate over some downed trees that were blocking the streets from the storms the night before. For anyone who is planning a project, the best advice I can offer is to “be prepared”!
Special thanks to Mr. Jahns and Mr. Bolte and to Mrs. Haymes, Mr. Van Goethem, William and Matthew for your help on Friday. The morning was made extra special because we received a blessing from one of the Jesuit priests that works with The McKenna Center – we prayed for our whole troop, so even if you could not be there for the delivery in person, we prayed for you.
Thanks again,
Alexander
From Jack Ryder – Mark your calendars!
Mark your calendar to help build little food pantries on August 7th – details to come!
