Troop 131,
I hope you all had a great weekend. I am already in Colorado and preparing for Philmont, however, there will still be a troop meeting Monday evening.
For those that were at Goshen and did not make last week’s meeting, please be sure to attend this week because we processed all your rank advancements, merit badges and other awards (such as Firem’n Chit and Totin Chip) and Mrs. Farmer will award them. We also have a print out of any partial/incomplete merit badges.
Philmont Scouts, there is a crew meeting at 6:30 and right before the troop meeting. Please bring your FULL pack for review, see below.
TROOP MEETING
We will have a Troop meeting at 7:30 PM this Monday at Immanuel Church on the Hill. The meeting will focus on First Aid including how to treat cuts and rescue carries.
Our next meeting is not until August 17th!
PHILMONT CREW MEETINGS
We are going to host two Crew gatherings; the second is this Monday July 27th at 6:30 (right before the Troop meeting). We ask that Philmont scouts bring their Full Pack for a formal review. We will use the Philmont checklist as a guide (which you all have, and all should study) and verify that we have everything that we need from a crew standpoint (stoves, first aid kit, water filters, coffee for adults, etc.) In addition, we will review the assigned roles/responsibilities and divide up the troop gear that each scout is responsible for.
Scouts who are not going to Philmont are also welcome to attend (as it is a good opportunity to learn about how to pack and prepare for a trek) however, we ask that you please be quiet (listening ears) and not disrupt the activities of the Philmont Scouts.
In addition, Mr. Farmer will have the T-shirts for Crew-2 (Crew-1 will get theirs when they arrive) and will hand those out as well.
JOHN WELLS EAGLE COURT OF HONOR
Please mark your calendars and John Wells will hold his Eagle Court of Honor at FBCA on Tuesday, July 28th, at 7pm in the Chapel. All are welcome to attend. More information to come!
