I hope you all had a great weekend and enjoyed the World Cup Final!
Due to the smoke on Saturday, we postponed the hike to Sunday, but I am sure the scouts who went had a good time!
For those that were at Goshen, please come to the meeting tomorrow, because we processed all your rank advancements, merit badges and other awards (such as Firem’n Chit and Totin Chip) and we will award them. We also have print out of any partial/incomplete merit badges.
Philmont Scouts, there is a crew meeting at 6:30 and right before the troop meeting. Please bring your FULL pack for review, see below. I was able to get mine down to 32 lbs WITH 4 Liters of Water!
TROOP MEETING & BoR
We will have a Troop meeting at 7:30 PM this Monday at Immanuel Church on the Hill. The meeting will focus on the requirements for the Firem’n Chit for those who do not currently have it
During the meeting we will also have Board of Reviews– I believe that we have two scouts who are up for Rank Advancement!
The adults will spend some time in the shed cleaning up and getting troop gear ready for Philmont.
PHILMONT CREW MEETINGS
We are going to host two Crew gatherings; the first on Monday July 20th at 6:30 and then again, the following week on Monday July 20th at 6:30 (both right before the Troop meeting). We ask that Philmont scouts bring their Full Pack for a formal review. We will use the Philmont checklist as a guide (which you all have, and all should study) and verify that we have everything that we need from a crew standpoint (stoves, first aid kit, water filters, coffee for adults, etc.) In addition, we will review the assigned roles/responsibilities and divide up the troop gear that each scout is responsible for.
Scouts who are not going to Philmont are also welcome to attend (as it is a good opportunity to learn about how to pack and prepare for a trek) however, we ask that you please be quiet (listening ears) and not disrupt the activities of the Philmont Scouts.
In addition, I have the T-shirts for Crew-2 (Crew-1 will get theirs when they arrive) and will hand those out as well.
Philmont Scouts- Please make sure you attend at least one of these gatherings!
