Scoutmaster-Update
In person meeting – 7pm
We’ll be outside or on Zoom for the foreseeable future, so we’ll try to push meetings a bit earlier.  As a heads up, as the weather gets colder and the days get shorter we will alternate.

CAMPFIRE –
For the outdoor meetings, we plan to have a small campfire.  Each week a patrol will be chosen to show up early and start the fire, then douse it at the end of the meeting.
This will help you with your fire building skills as well as providing light and warmth.
This week’s Patrol – THE TROLLS.  Please be at the church at 6:30 to start the fire.

September 25/26 Rock Climbing – Sugarloaf Mountain
We are all full for climbers due to gear restrictions, but you can still camp and hike!
We’ll be camping at Turner Farm on Friday and Saturday Evenings and Climbing on Saturday.
A couple of notes for the trip (note that we will send out an additional email to the participants):
**  You must arrange transport to and from Sugarloaf Mountain (approximately 1 hour from Alexandria).  The Troop will not be providing group transport.
**  Climbing gear will be checked out to the scout and not be shared. IF YOU HAVEN”T SENT YOUR MEASUREMENTS YET PLEASE DO SO NOW!
**  Masks will be worn at all times while climbing
** There will be additional health screen requirements
**  You have the option of bringing your own food or eating with your patrol
**  If you have a small tent, please use it.  If you need a troop tent, we have them available but they are mostly 3 to 4 person.  No tent sharing other than siblings.  It stinks, but its necessary.
**  There are lots of hiking trails available at Sugarloaf if you would like to camp but not climb.
Please email Mr. Jahns at kevinjahns@aol.com if you would like to attend.  Be sure to note if you would like to climb.
October 24 Troop Camporee
The Colonial District cancelled the fall camporee this year, so we are planning to do our own daytime activity somewhere close.  Initiative games, signoffs with older scouts, maybe some bridge building – we’ve got big ideas.
GENERAL TROOP MEETING INFO:
Bring your headlamps – it’s getting dark earlier!  NOTE:  We are talking about starting the meetings earlier due to daylight concerns.  More to come
We will continue meeting outside for the foreseeable future.
Bring your Scoutbooks- there are always Scouts and Adult Leaders available for signoffs
Blue Cards!  Did you know that your Scoutmaster can email you a blue card?  Just send me an email!  Note that the SCOUT must request the blue card.  Not the parent!
