I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend! We are all in a good mood this evening after the Eagles beat San Francisco and we are looking forward to the Super Bowl in two weeks!
TROOP MEETING:
We will have an in-person Troop meeting at 7:30PM at Immanuel Church on the Hill this Monday.
Just as an FYI, I will be out of town next week (2/1-2/8) and will miss both the Scout Sunday and next Monday’s meeting.
This is the time of year when Arrow of Light Scouts are visiting troops in order to see which troop they want to join. You all did a great job with the Arrow of Light Scouts last week and I will need a few other volunteers this week as Pack 129 is visiting us!
JACK SNOWDEN EAGLE PROJECT:
Just a reminder, that the second part of Jack Snowden’s eagle project is this coming Saturday, please be sure to sign up if you can!
Hello, Troop 131. Jack Snowden here and I am working on my Eagle Scout Project. My project is building and installing birdhouses for the Sunny Garden Master Gardeners at Bon Air Park in Arlington, VA. Each birdhouse will be for a different bird species. Each bird species will help the garden by feeding on different pests that damage the plants. The birdhouses will also have a QR code that visitors to the park can use on their phones to learn more about that specific type of bird.
There will be two workdays. Because of restrictions on certain types of tools, only older Scouts will be able to help on the construction day. Installation day will be open to all Scouts. During installation day, we will also be cleaning up the park and doing any needed repairs. A small breakfast (donuts) and lunch (probably pizza) will be provided. Thank you for your help!

In other scheduling news, please note that the twice annual Court of Honor has been moved to (March 27th) and the May Camping/Climbing trip has been moved to the weekend of May 19th to avoid Mother’s Day Weekend!
