IN PERSON MEETING AT: First Baptist Church – bring your compass
We will have an in person meeting tomorrow at 7:30 at First Baptist Church. We are sorry to keep switching this around, however, between the daylight savings and the fact that we will focus on orienteering, we thought it better to have the meeting at First Baptist tomorrow. In addition, this is the last meeting before the camping trip, so this is a good time to pick up any gear you need. We will be at First Baptist next week as well.
Tomorrow, please dress appropriately, bring your compass and head light and it should be a good time.
We are also contemplating reorganizing some of the patrols, so that there they are both larger and that there are less of them. This will be a good meeting to attend so that we can discuss these potential changes.
SCOUTMASTER (mini) VACATION
Just as an FYI, I will be out of town starting this Wednesday and running thru next Monday for a trip to the Grand Canyon/Arizona with the family. As a result, I will miss the Scouting for Food Pick up, the orienteering Campout and next Monday’s meeting (certainly not good planning on my part!) I am sure that all the events will be successful and lots of fun, however, please email me any good stories so that I can include in the subsequent Sunday emails.
Mr. Dalton will cover for me at the next Monday’s troop meeting, and I am sure will have a good Scout Master minute.
SCOUTING FOR FOOD
Scouting for food was a success this weekend and we had great turn out. As a result, we completed our rounds in record time! Thank you all who came and please make sure to bring your books so that we can sign off on your services hours.
However, this is only half the job, if you are not going on the campout, please consider volunteering for the pickup next weekend!
Orienteering Campout – Last Camping of 2021
See message below from our Outdoor Coordinator- Mr. Mulvaney
Join us for the last camp out of 2021. We will be working on Orienteering (https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/merit_badge_reqandres/orienteering.pdf) at Prince William Forest. This is a great place for Patrols to work together in teams and for Scouts to work on skills and merit badges- camping, cooking, hiking, communications, etc. Parents are always welcome to come and join in the activities and test your map and compass skills. We will also need drivers for Friday afternoon and Sunday morning.
Prince William Forest is near by and easily accessible. So, plenty of room and opportunity for everyone to help close out the 2021 Camping Season strong.
All the information can be found on our website: T131.org/
So, sign up, talk to your Patrol and get them to sign up too!

BLUE CARDS
Recently, many of you have requested and I have signed quite a few blue cards. This certainly makes me very happy, and I am glad to see so many of you interested in learning new things and advancing. The only thing that makes me happier than this, is signing them when they are complete! So, while I want to keep seeing the requests, I also want to make sure you compete the ones you start. Therefore, please keep your focus and work hard to finish them out.
For any newer scouts that don’t understand the process, please come, and see me and I will walk you through it.
GENERAL TROOP MEETING INFO:
Wear your Mask and uniform! Bring a headlamp! Have a good time!
Blue Cards! Did you know that your Scoutmaster can email you a blue card? Just send me Mr. Ramirez an email (scoutmaster@t131.org)! Note that the SCOUT must request the blue card, not the parent!
