Troop 131,
I hope you all are enjoying the beautiful spring day and that that the troop is enjoying their time at Mud Hole gap.
IN PERSON MEETING:
We will have an in-person meeting Monday at 7:30.
As mentioned previously and due to other scheduling commitments, we will not have access to the Parish Hall at Immanuel Church-on-the-Hill during the month until May 9th.
In preparation for the upcoming biking trip, Mr. Rogers has arranged for us to have our meeting at Velocity Bike shop on Mt. Vernon Ave.
2111 Mt Vernon Ave, Alexandria, VA 22301
From what Mr. Rogers told me, typically the shop is closed on Mondays, but one of the mechanics there is more than happy to open for us. He is an old ASM, so he likes what we do! There will be a bike centric program and the mechanic will look at our bikes and make sure they are good working order.
No matter if you have a bike or not, plan on coming on the biking trip or not, please come down to the meeting, it should be interesting.
JUNE RAFTING TRIP:
We are trying to gage interest in the June Rafting Trip. There is something on this trip for everyone. White water rafting for the older boys (14 years and older) as well as tubing and other activities for the younger (under 14 years) Scouts.
Please note, that this is the last day of School for ACPS and FCPS. They both appear to have early release/half days, so even though we have a long drive, our assumption is that we can leave early afternoon for this trip. Since this is the last day of school, we also thought this trip would be a great way to kick-off the summer!
This is an expensive trip, so we want to make sure we have sufficient interest. Yes or no, we ask that you please fill out the survey.
GOSHEN
We have 15 scouts registered for Summer Camp so far. It is not too late to register.

NEW SCOUTS AND WELCOME LETTER
I will be going to the Pack 129 Bridging Ceremony this evening and we have 5 new Webelos crossing over to our Troop. This provided me a good reason to update our Troop 131 welcome packet, which had not been used since before the beginning of the pandemic. It dawned on me that we have some families who have joined the troop over the past two years and likely have not seen this information. In addition, I suspect that there are some families that might like to see this packet again.
For everyone’s benefit, I attached to this email:
· 2022 Welcome Letter
