Scoutmaster-Update

Troop 131,

Sorry for the late email, the weekend just got away from me.

Hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day and Scouts make sure to give a big hug and thank your mothers for all that they do for you!

IN PERSON MEETING:

We will have an in-person meeting Monday at 7:30 and Immanuel Church on the Hill.  We will be back inside for the meeting, except for the cook off.  Thankfully the weather looks good.

We were scheduled to have a PLC (Patrol Leaders Council) tomorrow, however, given the activities of the evening, we will skip.  In other words, there is NO PLC.

COOK OFF:

All the patrols gathered last Monday and planned their meal.  Make sure you check with your patrol leader or troop guide if you are unclear about what is expected of you. The Troop will provide the stoves, however each patrol is responsible for the rest.  Remember BE PREPARED!

From your SPL, the rules of the cook-off:

1: all food must be brought by the scouts

2: each team will be graded on taste, nutrition, and backpack ability

3: each team will bring their own utensils and equipment, with the exception of the stoves

4: the meals must be able to be made on a back packing trip

VISIT FROM PACK 135:

We will have three scouts visiting us from Pack 135 tomorrow.  Remember, a scout is Friendly, so I ask that all of you to make an effort to integrate the visiting scouts into our meetings and activities.

BIKE & CAMPING TRIP:

See message below from Mr. Mulvaney, please sign up if you intend to come with us on the 50 Mile (Round Trip) activity.

And now that you are all ready to ride, let us know if you will be joining in for the fun. It is only a Saturday (14 May) and Sunday (15 May) trip.  We will leave Saturday morning from Georgetown (right under the Key Bridge at the start of the bike path) and Return to the same location on Sunday afternoon to Georgetown- 25 miles there and 25miles back.  Horsepen branch is a Primitive site right along the towpath.  We will need a few adult volunteers (with big vehicles) to bring gear and get to the site early so that we can reserve a spot.

Lots of hands make light work.  We need drivers, riders, campers, helpers, etc.  Even if you can’t do a lot, we can use a little help along the way.  So please let us know if you can join in the fun:
